Let's Play The Elder Scrolls Daggerfall - Part 8 - We Read a Horrible Play
Blundering around once more with the hope to find some quest we can possibly complete and not totally fudge due to the mechanics of the game, we get involved in a smuggling ring. Only problem is that we are smuggling Sursum.
Luckily, we pull it off with absolutely no problems, though we do find a random girl without pants in our quest. Daggerfall, now with pretty ladies losing their clothing. Anyway, with success in our bag, we decide to do another quest. This one is to find a random book in a dungeon.
Upon entering our random dungeon where the book happens to be, we find a killer mummy. This mummy can't be harmed by anything, showing a good sign of what is to come. Pretty much me running away from monsters in a giant dungeon, including mummies, ghosts, and vampires. It is Scooby Doo all over again.
We also find a random diamond that I probably won't be able to sell. I decide to hold onto it for whatever reason, perhaps it will be the salvation at the end of the game that Arena's potion of levitation was. We also find a giant random hub and a bunch of corridors to wander down.
A lot of minutes later we find our book hidden behind a wall beside another mummy. We find ourselves able to kill said mummy, getting a lot of gold, and get the ability to read a book. Specifically a 24 page play about fool's gold. Some people play games and enjoy them, I play them and torture themselves and sometimes my audience. This is a pretty good example of how I torture my audience.
We then must find our way out of the dungeon, which turns out to be simple. It looks like I have the quest in the bag... until I waste a bunch of time by going to Daggerfall instead of the random town we came from. One abuse of saving later, we get to sell our junk and get lots of loot.
We also get another letter from another castle. I actually am getting more encouraged to continue with the quest, so I start trying to figure out where we need to go now. We need to go to three palaces, so I pick the palace of Daggerfall since we are already there. Of course, then my headphone's battery decides to fail, so I decide to hold off on plot advancement until next time.
