Let's Play The Elder Scrolls Daggerfall - Part 7 - Telefragging Isn't a Thing Sadly
After the mess of last time, where I couldn't really get anywhere at all and found myself lost in a dungeon, I decided to invite Dominus to the stream so he could laugh at the game as well. Plus, maybe he would have some idea on where we are supposed to go in this place.
We spend a lot of time here going over everything we have seen before, ensuring we haven't missed any details from last time. We find a secret section of wall that just interconnects two areas we have seen before, but otherwise it is just establishing the situation.
To further help me in this trek, Nexus also sends messages. I think they just ended up making up a bunch of stories about Ricky and his dangerous situation. Dominus announces everything and starts reading what Nexus says, while Nexus tries to keep us all entertained while we wander around the same areas we have already seen.
We failed our quest to get the guy out of this place. That is not surprising in the slightest. We also find loot piles in places I can't reach, leading to more brilliance.
After a bunch of blundering around, we find ourselves confronted with the few things we saw from last time, plus we also got some ledge above a rising and lowering platform that you can control. Not sure what that activates. We also learn we only needed one of the two switches to open the gate, the other being totally useless (or perhaps this was actually harming me). We examine the water areas further and establish that the areas under there are totally useless, though Nexus would like us to train swimming.
Dominus eventually asks why I haven't just tried going out the way I have come in. If he had been around for the previous part, he would have known I had tried that, but I decided to show it off in the hopes that it would show him the true answer. Of course, now that turned out to be the way out of the dungeon. This game just likes to troll me. In hindsight though, it might actually be due to that switch next to the one controlling the gate that I couldn't figure out. In any event, we are finally free from this dungeon.
As usual I end up recklessly going to Daggerfall and have to spend my night outside while hearing vengeance a bunch. Then we enter the town, where Dominus asks us to murder people,. but I decide against that since we would die instantly. Instead we read a random parchment someone gave Ricky while I was stuck in that dungeon, showing just how easy it was to get in and out of there.
Eventually we get to the inn that we saw when we started the game, where Hawksmith the Innkeeper asks us to escort him to Singbrugh Commons. Ricky tries to do this, but we end up arriving at night and the guards march in during the night to tell me that he is a wanted man and to stand aside. Ricky, being a righteous civilian, lets this guy get slaughtered. We only have one problem, the guards are still remaining and are hostile, but frozen in place. We can't really do anything in the inn except try to leave and come back, but doing such just results in us appearing inside of a guard. I spam steal over and over while the guards are unable to do anything, but eventually we realize we can't really do much this way.
A few reloads later and we make it to the day! Everything is fine. We ask for directions from some people for the clothing shop, then get shot at by a guy with a giant bow! Panicking, we rush as fast as we can to the shop. At least we can say we did a quest, even if we totally fudged it due to the game being glitchy when I tried handing him over.
