Let's Play Wolfenstein: The New Order [Part 17] - No Country For Mould Men

Yes, I know this is supposed to be a gameplay video of Wolfenstein: The New Order and not Super Cormac McCarthy Pun Hour, but even Wolfenstein didn't want me showing of much of its gameplay, or at least its shooting gameplay this time around.

Instead, we're back at base with Anya and the crew, and we have to go find some mouldy concrete. Because clearly the one man army that is B.J. Blazkowicz is best put to use in exploring the sewers for health hazard. I don't play Wolfenstein to look for health hazards, I play Wolfenstein to BE a health hazard. Only to nazis, though. Well, nazis and their robots. To put it in words that our dear old departed friend Fergus might use, I much more enjoy the rooty tooty point and shooty parts of Wolfenstein: The New Oder, or even the hidey widey crouch and stabby parts of the gameplay more than running around in the base and peri-base areas looking for the trigger to unlock the next portion of the gameplay and story.

Speaking of Fergus, and the story of Wolfenstein The New Order, I should have chosen Fergus instead of Wyatt. Private Wyatt is acting like a jerkintosh because he's seen some shit and probably has PTSD. I can understand that it's a serious issue but what the hell, man. Don't blame Blazkowicz for it. That guy was infirm and immobile for years! Trapped in his own body! It was a very moving and poetic moment when we saw the cutscene, and it shows that he's had it just as rough as you. Have some empathy Wyatt!

But anyway, we do eventually finish all the fetch quests and unlock the next portion of the story. The narrative is push forward with another cinematic cutscene, and then yet another cutscene. If you don't know how Wolfenstein The New Order pushes its narrative by now, I'll give you a hint: it uses cutscenes. Anyway, one of the cutscenes is god damn horrifying because, well, nazis. Luckily, I think we'll get to shoot those nazis in the near future. I'm looking forward to it, not only because it's an exciting prospect from a gameplay standpoint, but also because this time... It's personal! Well, not really, but it's seems fun.
