I don't even know what to call this next stage. It is 6-3: Beware The Spinning Logs, and it's an odd mixture of things...it's sort of an underground athletic stage, if that is possible. In this stage, we find spinning logs, which are...well, logs that spin. When they are spinning, jumping on them will send you flying upward (and hitting them from the bottom will send you flying downward, which you usually don't want), but they pause after a while, and when they are not spinning, you can walk on them like any old platform. Besides that, this stage has various enemies common in World 6, Fuzzies (for the third and last time in the game), and a pretty good bonus area. There isn't really much else to say about this one; it's fun, but it's pretty quick to describe (and play through for that matter).

The fortress of World 6 (6-4: Tap-Tap The Red Nose's Fort), on the other hand, is not. It starts out in a semi-3D area with moving platforms, ghost enemies, and fire enemies, and then it moves to a small sewer area and an open room with a sort of Salvo the Slime miniboss. Defeating it gives you the key to exit the room and enter the next one, which has a Middle Ring and leads to probably the biggest and most labyrinthine area of the stage. This is a dark, multi-level, semi-3D area full of pipes, one of which is blocked by a cork that must be "unlocked" with the key obtained from the second Salvo miniboss, which you can find in one of the side pipes. After that is a Mode 2 lava area that is actually fairly boring (it has only a couple enemies). This is the last room; for unknown reasons, 6-4 lacks a boss door; you simply enter the pipe at the end, and there you are in the boss room. Tap-Tap the Red Nose is simple enough to defeat; if you're a decent shot with eggs , you can probably finish the battle in under half a minute easily. You have to break the bricks on the floor to uncover the lava beneath, then knock the boss into the lava. It's really quite easy, especially for a World 6 boss battle.
