Time for another series of Let's Play videos...and it's another Mega Man game! Specifically, Mega Man 8, which seems to be a rather disreputable installment in the famous series. I don't know what people's problem with this game is (besides the lackluster voice acting), but I for one find it quite entertaining and enjoyable, even if it does deviate quite a bit from older games in the series.

We start things off with a rather nice little introductory scene showing Mega Man defeating various Robot Masters from previous games, and then comes the title screen, with "Mega Man 8" actually spoken aloud. Say what you want about the acting quality, but this is still the only Mega Man game in the original series that contains actual voices. Upon starting the game, we get some plot that actually seems fresh and interesting for once. Sure, it doesn't really fit with the rest of them...but considering pretty much every other Mega Man plot could have been written by a third-grader, I'd consider this a good thing.

Anyway, after all the cool action scenes finish, we come to the intro stage, which seems to take place on some kind of deserted island. It's a good introduction to the gameplay mechanics of Mega Man 8, I suppose. It's easy and short (as intro stages are wont to be), and it ends in a sort of giant crab boss. After defeating it, we find that Dr. Wily is up to his old tricks again (of course), so...let's go stop him and save the world!
