Though we’ve experienced the complications that psionic powers can cause in a mission, up until now we’d been rather fortunate in not losing anyone to it. That unfortunately has changed, for Sesame Seeds was killed by one of our own, though his mind was not his own. There was little we could do to make that situation end without a casualty, but we can try our best to ensure it doesn’t happen again by quickly getting to the psionic leader of the vessel and taking them out.

As for protecting our soldiers from that peril in the future, that’s a little trickier. There’s always moving quicker to take out the psionic aliens, but that’s not always possible. Our soldiers will slowly grow better at resisting the efforts of the aliens but that’s not a short term solution, so the next best thing we can do right now is equip ourselves to deal with the aliens better, so that when they do appear we can dispatch them easier. We already have decent weapons but armour is another matter entirely. Fortunately we’re close to a breakthrough on that, one that’ll help tip the scales in our favour a little more, provided my soldiers survive long enough to take advantage of it.
