Live For Speed (2003) - Every PC F1 Game
Live For Speed by Scawen Roberts, Eric Bailey, Victor van Vlaardingen, 2003.
Live For Speed originally came out in 2003, but it's been in continuous development since. What you see here is the latest (as of 2018) version of the game, so the tracks and lighting is vastly improved over the original 2003 release (apparently even more improvements are on the way). Additionally, the BMW Sauber F1 car in the game was added as part of the S2 update in 2006, so we're a bit out-of-the-timeline for the clips from this game, but as most games are in long-term development these days, I've gone for the original release date to classify each game!
1. Race Start (Monza): 0:00 This game only has Rockingham (UK) as a real life track, so I've used a variety of the fictional tracks included for my clips. The computer controlled cars can be pretty erratic; you can see a fair number of them wandering all over the place, colliding and falling off the track, even on Pro setting; it took a few attempts to survive this far!
2. Spray Effects (Silverstone): 0:34 Silverstone isn't in this game, nor is wet weather, so I've used a fictional cloudy evening track instead. Note how the chaotic computer controlled cars fall off the track all over the place, even on Pro setting!
3. Tunnel & View (Monaco): 0:55 There's no Monaco in this game, just this UK-based South City track, there's a few underpasses, but not really a tunnel! You can tell I'm no expert at the track, as I almost get lost!
4. Wet Track (Spa-Francorchamps): 1:18 There's no wet weather or Spa-Francorchamps in this game, so I've used an Eau Rouge-ish part of a track with cloudy-ish skies instead!
5. Pitstop (Interlagos): 1:39 There's no Interlagos in this game, so here's a pitstop at another track. You'll note there's no pitcrew, or much to see at all really (I turned off the text displays, which might have made the pitstop make more sense!). Car damage is not fixed by pitting.
6. Huge Crash (Montreal): 2:02 There's no Montreal in this game, so I used a different track. The crazy computer controlled cars are already having huge accidents by themselves, even before I barrel into an enormous sky-high crash!
