F1 Challenge '99-'02 (2003) - Every PC F1 Game
0F1 Challenge '99-'02 by ISI/Electronic Arts, 2003.
Electronic Arts F1 license ended in 2002, but that didn't stop them from releasing a game in 2003, with the 1999-2002 seasons all included. Here I've used the 2002 season.
1. Race Start (Monza): 0:00 This is fairly similar to F1 2002, but it's noticeable that all the cars have a wall of carbon fibre behind the steering wheel, which looks a bit odd (F1 2001 and F1 2002 also had this, but it was less noticeable due to darker lighting). Some textures have been changed since 2002, but otherwise it's nearly identical.
2. Spray Effects (Silverstone): 0:37 Spray is much better than F1 2002, hanging in the air longer and wider.
3. Tunnel & View (Monaco): 0:51 There's very little difference to F1 2002, except the distance is a bit less hazy, after the tunnel!
4. Wet Track (Spa-Francorchamps): 1:08 It's not quite as foggy as F1 2002 here, and the car seems to have some baked-in lighting on it, causing shadows from the wing mirrors, even though it's raining hard! Otherwise, apart from some changed textures, it's almost identical to F1 2002.
5. Pitstop (Interlagos): 1:25 The lighting here is a bit different, the car is a lot more yellow than F1 2002 (and better modelled). The pitcrew also seem to be making more mistakes and are slow to start work!
6. Huge Crash (Montreal): 1:45 The camera angles here are a lot different to previous EA F1 games, more like real-life. Crashes are pretty intense, but don't seem to cause a huge amount of damage.
