Oh man, that last one was pretty intense... I mean, just look back on how long it took. I'm sure this one will be even more intense! ... ... ...what? Really? It's so short! Oh well, you win some and you lose some... and some you just can't help but pulverize into Lumines dust.

The progression in this last third or so has been pretty funky and maybe could've used some more work. Unless I'm weird. I'd actually love to find out that it's different for everybody... but I rather doubt it, personally.

Puzzle Mode
Puzzle 26: Large O

Wait, what? Where's this coming from all of the sudden? All these "Big" puzzles and now it's a "Large"? But... but I was all set to negotiate some paradigm with The Big O when it came showtime...and action! How could the designer come down with such convenient, practically laser-guided amnesia when it came to the final act!?

Or... maybe it was exactly for the reason I practically danced all around that the naming convention was so abruptly and singularly modified. Either that or someone REALLY doesn't like algorithm analysis to a magnitude of an order most excessive. I'd hate to have to have to have to describe the upper bounds of the limiting behavior governing THAT function.

Anyway... uh... this one's kinda a letdown even besides the weird naming. I mean,it's not even an O! It's just the Big Square taken to its obvious conclusion by removing the part where they inexplicably take things easy on you after having just made you do the Clear All and long since having forced a 4x4 formation. I mean, compared to 4x4, making a 3x3 for the exterior square to rest on before it clears is a cakewalk. (Or do I have some weirdly twisted outlook on the whole thing?)

I... don't want to alarm anyone, but we've made it. This was the final puzzle.

Well, sort of... I guess. It's not quite that simple, but if you stopped here and just wanted to wait for some actual closure thirteen uploading days later (however many real people days that translates into), I certainly wouldn't think any less of anyone for that choice.

That said, I do think that the second round still deserves to exist for trying something very interesting in accordance with the ground already paved. It'd be more interesting with a complete set of new puzzles, of course, but I think 26 of them was already pretty impressive for a completely new and untested game and a rather unusual twist on the normal rules to make even that much. Not to mention turning the standard puzzle logic on its head now and again to create some even more twisted puzzles...

Our immediate reward is the 45 Degrees skin... which actually I'd thought was the skin we were using, but truthfully I'd never played with it. Look forward to that when next we change gears... because... uh... it was easier to polish off the remainder of Puzzle Mode while I was in a groove.

Don't worry, there's still always going to be Kirby... uh... until I run out of installments of that. Be very afraid of what nightmares might follow once the Meta Knight's Revenge runs its presumed course.
