Well this was torturous. This stage is really way too long for its own good. While as a whole, it's not THAT difficult, there's a lot of things that're easy to mess up like any of the Concrete Shot Blocks or a jump from a Top Man Platform. Also, while this doesn't affect a speedrun, the checkpointing is pretty awful. My casual run had me see that Concrete Shot pickup tons of times. If only Beat weren't disabled...then we could skip the entire blue section by hopping in the pit at the start. The game even gives you Rush Coil and Concrete Shot if you didn't have it. Probably something to keep in mind if you're doing a cheat run. Although all cheat runs really need is gravity flipping.

You know what another big annoyance in this stage is? How there's only one or two tiles of space between a screen transition. So you could slide straight into a pit if you're not ready at a screen transition. It's happened so many times. When that happens, your run's just over.

You know what else is annoying? The fans. Almost every single one is there to mess your shit up. On the return trip with Concrete Shot, there's that screen with a Beak and an upward fan. You're supposed to Concrete Shot, making a block on the other wall. If you jump to the block from too far to the left of the platform, you'll land on the block, but the fan will pick you up again just a little bit. That small bit of air time is enough to mess up your jump and by the time you hit jump again, the Concrete Shot block is already gone. Then there's that fan in the underwater section that's paired with a Piledan cannon. It just wastes your time and forces you to get hit by the Piledan. And then there's the fans in the escape sequence which are the worst things ever and will kill you several times over, forcing you to refight Mother Brain.

Let's talk about that Mother Brain fight. It's bad. The rings do so much damage, it's not okay. And it's RNG whether you'll have to make a return trip to hit the rightside button. Thankfully, you can just skip the entire fight with a CoilJet, but my god, is it bad. The teleporter is actually active and accessible. Make sure to damage boost a ring before trying to get into the teleporter because Mother Brain does 50 contact damage. You can block it with Salmon Shield, but then you'll probably want to use an E Tank in the escape sequence because those Piledans are just the worst.

The one good thing about this stage is that I can show off a bit of Beat Saber. Although inputting that WideSword combo is a little inconsistent on the fly. There's not really a better way to deal with that Piledan that I use it on though. The singular Beat Saber shot and the other buster shots miss it.

This run beats the previous normal record, megabanana's 5:50. That was their no damage run as well, so it's easy to see why it's not very fast comparatively. For improvements, I just know there's a lot everywhere. Particularly, in the second section, there's the Top Man Platforms with all the spikes around. You can try to just damage boost the spikes to get through without having to wait for those horrifically slow to spawn tops, but that's pretty hard and would probably require more E Tanking. Also, my escape sequence was probably not optimal, but I was also super nervous.
