Mahou Otome - Dodonpachi Daioujou Event - 2nd Loop Clear (NMNB)
121Mahou Otome had a DOJ event some time ago which was pretty neat.
It had a 1st loop stage and a 2nd loop stage, and the 2nd loop had a TLB at the end.
It had a short little story about the SDOJ characters getting infused with the souls of the DOJ characters.

The laser aura works like perfectly for this stage because of all the destructible bullets from all sides.
Also no this video is not just an excuse to post Longhena content.

Mahou Otome came out in 2015 and is Cave's long-running free mobile gacha game that's set in the Deathsmiles universe.
It's basically the sole thing that kept Cave afloat all these years.
This game is pretty incredible just in how much of a giant hodgepodge of everything Cave it is.
Fighting Larsa with Deathsmiles enemies while Reco pilots the SDOJ Type A ship with the Ketsui guys and Longhena as support while the Muchi Muchi Pork girls cheer on.
Basically everything Cave is in this game, and if it isn't it's only a matter of time. Besides characters it also has the shottypes like the DDP laser and a shot that's basically Hibachi's washing machine.
Now you too can have Longhena as your husbando.
This game has had 6 years of constant non-stop content added to it now, it is actually absurd how huge this game is.
There are over 2374 units that all have different combinations of shottypes and skills and they all have a personal story, each of the 15 main characters has over 90 different costumes, each has a skill tree that makes Path of Exile blush, there is an in-game FORUM, in-game user-reviews for all the shottypes, there are monthly score tournaments and daily guild wars where guilds compete against each other for rewards, it's really nuts.
It should also not be understated that there are like ten thousand people playing this game every day. I really can't say the same thing for any other shmup.

The page actually takes forever to load because there are just that many.
There is also so much LORE. So much new story, art and music for existing Cave games. Longhena for example got tons of new art and they even gave him a VOICE. He also plays a part in the story which is great because it takes place in the Deathsmiles universe and it all reads like a giant crossover fanfiction, it's amazing.
There's also a part where the DDP Type A,B and C ships got turned into anime girls and it's hysterical.

The only real issues with the game is that it's still hampered by your typical gacha game issues like stamina, useless units and overabundance of in-game currency. If you're looking for metagaming there's only a small handful of units that are viable, and they don't pop up that often.
It's very, very different from an arcade game but it's still a really absurd and interesting game for what it is. And underneath all the gacha it's still a Cave game with Cave quality.
