Megaman X Mavericks Final is a rpg fangame by maddrex77 set in the Megaman X universe. Included are remastered versions of the first three games and a brand new fourth chapter depicting events that happened after the third game.

Current version: 1.01

Just two mavericks left to dispense of.

Enemies have some level of durability now. Even with Helmet MkIV's, I can't one hit kill some of the enemies with their weakness (Magnetic Stone). The berserk effect that gets applied sometimes does lead to some amusing moments like an enemy attacking itself. Won't do any damage, but that's one less enemy doing damage.

Not much else to really say about this stage so it's time to skip ahead to the boss doors. I ended up getting enough zenny to invest in one of the other items I was going after, the Fire Saber for Zero. 40k is pricey, but I'm not really pining for anything critical at the moment. Besides, that massive attack boost means he's not gonna have to worry about using skills for the next area, meaning I can pool all my W-Tanks towards X for the time being.

As for the boss...Rainy Turtloid doesn't have his old berserk inducing shenanigans from the original game (or at least he never used such a move on me here), but he does mark the point where boss damage ramps up quite sharply. His attacks hit for 180-280 damage to both characters. A bit of a shock when only Magnet Man could do triple digit damage rather easily. Basically, it's a sign bosses are going to start getting rather dangerous if you're like me and not drowning yourself in stat boosters.

In any case, once the oversized turtle eats enough saber strikes & Magnetic Stones to go boom, the duo gets rewarded with the Splash Rain skill. Hits all enemies, effective on air types, costs 45 WE.

One last maverick left and...well, X about to give it to his enemies. You can probably surmise what else is coming up from that, heh.

More next time!
