Megaman X Mavericks Final is a rpg fangame by maddrex77 set in the Megaman X universe. Included are remastered versions of the first three games and a brand new fourth chapter depicting events that happened after the third game.

Next up, Grizzly Slash. Ended up grabbing a Build Power (+15 atk when used) for X to use. X Missile MkI is gonna fall off in usefulness after this stage and he's gonna want enough attack power to kill things in swift order

His stage is largely unchanged from the original. You'll start out at the eastern door, slay all the enemies you see, pick up loot, then locate a switch at the end. Hitting this unlocks a door in the starting area, but also triggers a self-destruct sequence. The timers (40 sec for the eastern room switch, 60 sec for the western one) seem like plenty, but you'll only have 4-6 seconds left at the end if you make no movement errors.

Enemy wise, they've taken a notable boost up in damage dealt, ~15-25 damage per hit depending on the enemy. X being able to kill any target in one or two hits is critical to keep E-Tank usage down. Speed helps too, hence the reason I pick up a Build Speed (+10 spd when used) at the first shop.

Besides all that, nothing special to note until the boss.

Unlike Sting Chameleon, Grizzly Slash (and the rest of the bosses from the first set of mavericks) has no status trickery available, just straight up damage. Expect to take 12-25 damage each time he acts depending on which animated attack is selected. Not as fast as Sting Chameleon though so keeping an eye on hp levels is easier to do.

Reward for the battle is Slash Claw. Targets one enemy, effective on ice enemies, costs 10 WE.
