Megaman X Mavericks Final is a rpg fangame by maddrex77 set in the Megaman X universe. Included are remastered versions of the first three games and a brand new fourth chapter depicting events that happened after the third game.

Time to go investigate that mysterious signal. Beforehand though, if your X's attack power isn't very close to 100, grab some Build Powers or one of the Hands equipment upgrades. You're going to need it.

As you enter the Valley area, Alia mentions the readings are very strange. All signs point to it being Zero, but something's amiss.

What's amiss? The sole enemy for this stage, a virus rendition of Zero. Only one attack from it which hits for around 25-30 damage, but it can inflict poison. Not a big deal when it's one enemy, but the Zero Virus enemies can appear in groups of 2 and even 3 towards the end, meaning that poison damage can and will stack up. Don't bother curing poison mid battle. It'll clear itself upon the battle's completion plus the fact it'll likely be re-applied soon after.

As for doing damage? X is going to get some heavy use out of his normal attack. X Missile MkI is going to be weak damage wise unless you invest in a Helmet MkIV and none of the boss weapons picked up to this point do damage to them.

When you reach the save point/shop/map trio, there's a hidden entrance to the left of them. This leads to what seems to be a run down lab, complete with the real Zero being held captive by, get this, Vile.

Vile doesn't stay too long, saying he's got all the data from Zero that he needs. He leaves a Gutsbot for X to dismantle. If you could handle the enemies here with minimal fuss, this boss will be no different. Roughly 40-50 damage from its attacks plus it's weak to Slash Claw.

After the battle, Zero is freed (Oh yes, Zero? You did NOT break a sweat there. Just saying my friend). Cue him joining the team finally!

Stat wise, despite nuking every enemy in the first five stages, Zero still has a three level lead on X (He's lv20 while X just hit lv17 from that boss fight). Pretty good stats too, only trailing notably in WE, power, and to a lesser extent, speed. All three can be easily fixed with items if needed.

Back at base, the goal's clear...find Vile and stop him before Zero's data gets used for evil. Turns out Vile's gone to the moon which is where the duo should be going. Problem? Another group of mavericks have popped up and they need to be dismantled in order to reach it.
