Current version: 1.01

Time for the last maverick of the first portion of the game, but it's also a long one for one reason...item collection.

Now, the premise of the stage is that a sandstorm is impeding your vision. Translation? Battles are triggered randomly in the same vein as early Final Fantasy games. Once you get inside the temple due north of the start though, it's back to normal.

The catch? That item collection I mentioned. Going off the beaten path can be quite rewarding in terms of supplies. Just be sure to pack some W-Tanks as that's the one item there's none of in this stage.

Speaking of those items, there's a few important ones. Heading one screen west and one screen north leads to some S-Tanks and a cutcene. Not one you need to see, but just a bit of extra banter.

The real good stuff starts pouring in when you go one screen east of the start. In the SE corner are some E-Tanks. Seems plain, but if you go due north, you'll come upon a tree with a patch of dirt in front of it. Examining that patch of dirt will turn up this game's easter egg. The reward for finding it is 5 free levels. That can be a huge boost to X's survival, especially if you came here immediately after Grizzly Slash's stage. I won't be getting this just yet. Best to wait until I can get the maximum benefit from it.

And yet...that's not the best reward this stage has to dish out. Head two screens to the north from the easter egg and you'll find what appears to be a temple area to your northeast. There's a couple items up there, but you're going to want to go due east, sticking to the south side of the wall, until you transition into a hidden area with a door. Take this door and you'll be rewarded with the second piece of the Ultimate X Armor.

As for Mino Magnus, his attacks do around 35-45 damage. Also has a decent bit of speed to him. If you're coming here after Grizzly Slash's stage, pay very close attention to your hp levels because he may just very well be quicker than X.

After some Chameleon Sting spam, Mino Magnus checks out, but not before dropping some chilling information....being he's from the future, he knows what happens there and X...well, he's kinda dead in that timeline.

Skill reward is Magnetic Stone. Hits a single target, effective on temple enemies, costs 25 WE per use.

With the first batch of mavericks out of the way, Alia picks up a signal that seems like it's coming from Zero, but it's merely similar to his, suggesting it's coming from someone else. It's location is from a valley and X will be checking that place out next time.
