Megaman X Mavericks Final is a rpg fangame by maddrex77 set in the Megaman X universe. Included are remastered versions of the first three games and a brand new fourth chapter depicting events that happened after the third game.

Stage 4 makes things a bit more troublesome in terms of my main strategy of Nova Striking everything into dust with Zero doing cleanup for two reasons.

First, enemies start to have enough hp that Nova Strike on its own may not be a one hit kill if the damage rolls very low. That doesn't happen too often here, but it'll become even more noticeable as the game progresses and enemy hp totals go higher.

Second, if you thought Nova Strike not being a 100% one hit kill anymore was bad....those snowmen from Frost Man's stage make an appearance here. Why is that significant? Oh, nothing huge...aside from being IMMUNE to Nova Strike. Yeah. What a jerk, right?

Well, get used to that. At least one enemy in almost every stage from now until the end is going to be immune to Nova Strike.

That being said, the boss for this stage is the one Zero's being trying to save since the start of the game, Iris. She's not exactly pleased the Colonel was offed and decides to attack by utilizing the form she took during X4 along with her battle theme from said game.

Now, if you've played X4 at all as Zero, this fight is going to operate on the same idea as it. In that game, the robot Iris morphed into was immune to all damage, but it was being powered by a virus crystal that could be damaged & destroyed which would end the battle. That same gimmick exists here as Iris is immune to everything in the book, but the virus crystal is not.

While the virus crystal is weak to Power Stone, watch those hp levels. Both Iris & the virus crystal attack and the damage adds up to 2.3-2.4k to both characters after both of their attacks.

After the battle, Iris gets spirited away. Evidently someone still wants to use Iris as bait for Zero.

In any case, only one member of Repliforce awaits the duo now.
