MetiKSP E13 | ATS07 - AGENA Globetracker | Via Antelope Delphi
um um
The ATS07 Mission is an extended mission of the re-usable SSTO Delphi - in order to test its high inclination orbit capabilities. The ATS07 carries a small Geostationary Sattelite called AGENA Globetracker. The purpose of the sattelite is to monitor the Union Continent, alongside provide un-interrupted coverage to the landscape below it. This as a way both to secure omniscient communications to the future Spaceflights, but also to provide a coverage to occaisional Communication lapses created by the misplacement of the ArcSat III in it's orbit.
The Delphi in this mission is equipped with the OSiris fuel tanks capable of sustaining more fuel - with an almost 84% extended fuel capacity then the original tanks. The High end OSiris fuel tanks are used to feed greater ammounts of fuel into the engines which, after ATS06 have been modified to be 7% more efficient - producing greater thrust in order to make up for the encumberance of the OSiris fuel tanks. The two Aerospike thrusters have also been slightly angled about an offset of 9 degrees facing the ground in order to produce a more reliable thrust.
Notably this is seen during launch when the craft is instantly propelled to its main ascent profile - accellerating much faster then it's previous versions.
The success of the AGENA Globetracker implies an unending uplink to the KSC. Currently, the Theti is being refitted similarely to launch a mission with a high eccentricity polar orbit - namely the AURA sattelite for Icecap and Aurorae observation.
