Let's Play Metro Exodus on the Xbox One S and this is part 1 of this series. All gameplay footage is recorded using the |Xbox One's internal capture software and then upscaled from 720p to 1080p for the best-looking picture. The episode begins with Artyom out on the street of a bombed out Russian city when he grabs his equipment and heads down a manhole cover and into the sewers. It is at this point we finally take control of our favourite Russian hero as we control him through the sewer tunnels and then into the underground metro system. The graphics an atmosphere look amazing with all the cold icicles and beautiful sun rays penetrating through grates and vented covers separating the tunnels from the streets above. The sound design is also absolutely perfection! I adore the sound design of all the Metro games so far but this one just stands out as next level as far as special sounds and environmental noises. It was very creepy, and it had everything to do with the sounds emanating from all around me. It was 3d in the truest sense of the word. Back to the story, Artyom comes to a larger area where he reads about a group that was hiding out there previously and that got attacked and killed by Watchmen who make a return to these games from Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light. The environmental story telling is also incredible, even if you chose not to read the note you can work out exactly what had gone down in this location just by looking around and seeing the bodies of Watchmen and human survivors all in varies states of trying to get away and trying to fight. One man is slumped over a large chain link fence where he must have tried to escape the situation and in desperation tried to get over the fence and get away. Or maybe he was trying to get to a loved one to protect them or save them from an ongoing attack. Thats the beauty of these games, you get to interpret the stories while on your journey. It's amazing and I love it!! After a few more fights with Watchmen Artyom gets saved by his friends who take him back to the main base where you wake up on a hospital bed with Anna sitting at your bedside while an enraged Miller (Now sporting artificial legs from the knees down) as he tells you your actions have become reckless, and he wants you to take responsibility. Artyom is once again silent protagonist and so we never actually know if he agrees to Millers orders. Okay, so we kind of do as straight after getting better Artyom is once again out above ground in the city at the top of a block of flats only this time Anna has gone with him. He doesn't hear any sign of life beyond the city and so Anna finally convinces him it's time to stop and go home to live the Metro station life together. On the journey back to the base they run into some more Watchmen and then the weather begins turning bad. They spot a train on the railway above ground which is a never seen before thing I am guessing as they are very happy to see it and decide to follow it. They happen to get picked up by some friends who turn out to actually be enemies and things get very bad very fast... See how it works out for Artyom in this amazing first Exodus episode!!
