State Of Decay 2 {Part 8} One step up, two steps down...
Let us play State of Decay 2 Juggernaut edition and this is episode number 8. All gameplay footage was captured using the Xbox Ones built in capture capabilities and the resolution has been upscaled from 720p to 1080p for the best picture quality I am able to manage with the equipment I have available to me. This episode begins with us now being armed with some new information about the state of the group and what is needed to get them healthy again. So, in the last episode I was under the impression that the infection the survivors had contracted was due to the blood plague we destroyed a few episodes ago. Thinking this I thought I needed to find blood plague samples in order to make the cures needed to bring everyone back to full health just like what was demonstrated to us in the tutorial section of the game when we first started. It turns out that's not what this is and all we needed to do was to check in the infected survivors to the infirmary and they would get cured since we already had what we needed to cure them. It's a learning curve as I have said many times and so that will be a constant theme of this playthrough, at least it will be for the early sections of this game. Hopefully at some point it will become second nature, and everything will finally all click into place and make sense. Sadly, that doesn't happen in this episode and some viewers may find it a bit frustrating as we do not get much done compared to the previous ones. Taking control of Mano's, we decide to climb a nearby tower so that we can survey the area to get a better idea as to what resources are available to us in the immediate area around our new home. It turns out we are very close to a little town which contains plenty of shops and other location that look to be stocked full of the much-needed supplies we need. We notice a doctor's surgery very close to our current location and decide to head there and gather the goods up from inside. It was also the plan to make it an outpost due to the medicine it provides regularly being a much-needed necessity for our group. It goes a bit wrong though when it suddenly falls dark as night-time arrives and we become disorientated as a zombie horde attempts to kill us. Having to bug out and get away from there due to being alone and not in full health the hope for a new medical outpost will have to wait for another time, possibly during the day. Thats another major theme of this episode, disorientation due to the very dark nights the game uses! So, hoping to do another mission which we are instructed to visit a trader outpost we once again find ourselves very disorientated and struggle to find our way to their location. Ended up off the road we begin bashing into the uneven terrain and the various fences and phone polls dotted around the countryside. This causes a bit too much damage to the car and without being able to see much as well as not having brought a toolkit to fix it, it is decided for the best that we head back to base and do some base building and management while waiting out the night to head out and try again when its daytime and we can actually see things properly. The risk was just way too high at this stage of the game and with only the one working car we have it is just too valuable to the community to risk losing it when it isn't necessary to go out on missions while there is so much, we can do in the safety of our homebase. Oh, and we had another zombie attack on the base which we repelled without issue. Its certain to become worse though as the days pass by so some better base defences need to be thought about and installed at the first chance we get. We also found our first mod of the game in the form of a generator which was used to add power to the infirmary. Whether or not that was the correct place to put it or if it was the best overall use for it, we will just have to see but it's not that much of an issue as many more mods are out there to be found and finding them and bringing them back to base is exactly what we will do. Anyway, thanks for watching this episode of State of Decay! I really hope it was entertaining and enjoyable. As I keep saying this is the first time, I have played this game and it will take time for me to understand how to play it properly and get better at it. Thats kind of the point of this video series, to learn the game so others can watch and learn the game in real time so that if they choose to play it, they will go into it with a much better understanding than I did lol. Please LIKE & SUBSCRIBE if you really enjoyed it as it really helps the channel and helps others to discover it. I really do appreciate all the interaction and SUBS I get so much! Take care and I will see you either tomorrow for Metro Exodus or in the next State of Decay episode... CHEERS ALL
