Metroid Fusion Minimalist/No Damage Run - Part 10: YAKUZA ELION
Yakuza battle at 1:36. Some extras about the power outage are involved here.
I would have liked to include the next section, but if Yakuza is going to refuse to play fair, then guess what, Yakuza? I don't have to include the next section. I beat you FOUR times in recording attmepts including this one and the reason for my failures past you the first 3 times were from my focus giving out at given points.
Yakuza is a master rank cheater, on par with Rustal Elion from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans, and it's certainly bad enough to give a guy named MattLPAdventures a case of PTSD after already stacking with his own mom going through hospital issues, God knows how I feel about that. At least Yakuza doesn't have ridiculous levels of plot armor to work with, though, so we can actually beat him instead of putting up with some shallow illegal WMD spam that gets arbitrarily glorified beyond belief. Now Yakuza's first phase isn't so bad; you can manipulate its movement around to dodge around its movement and its fire spit.
It's the second phase that stings so miserably. I actually don't even have triple digit count in recording attempts on Yakuza, but almost ALL of my failures were to this pain.
By itself, this phase already has the problem that Yakuza jumps around at random speeds and lengths, and Yakuza drops garbage upon you as well, which likes to sponge your miserably low Charge Beam pierce. This is troubling in its own right. This gets FURTHER aggravated by how Yakuza's contact hitbox is disjointed and can catch you easily if you're even remotely near him when he jumps up, so if you're even SLIGHTLY cornered against Yakuza's already erratic behavior, guess what? You're getting hit, period. You can see how there's plenty of involvement of needing to rely on dumb luck to get around, I swear to God.
Oh, but that isn't what warrants isolating Yakuza from what is coming after, oh no. I wish it was. What is is how Yakuza can catch you UNAVOIDABLY DURING THE PHASE TRANSITION.
No, I mean it. And I do mean through baiting Yakuza in the first phase to the far side to make sure the extended fire is as far to one side as possible. Simply put, Yakuza can do a moderately far jump to force you to blast him with the Charge Beam shot, then short jump. If he does this, you are simply hit, period. It's not even a matter of failing to imitate Ultra Instinct. You simply have no way to escape. The extended fire will see to that. You can't hit Yakuza again either because the garbage will get in the way of your second Charge Beam shot. You're just hopelessly cornered where you can't escape at all. It's so bad that Yakuza deserves his own part and a comparison to Rustal Elion. He deserves this disgrace.
It's just....even the conveniently placed Energy Tank and the Space Pirates right before don't compare to Yakuza.
