STORY: 15/20
"After the events of Might and Magic Book One: The Secret of the Inner Sanctum, the adventurers who helped Corak defeat Sheltem on VARN take the "Gates to Another World" located in VARN to the land of CRON (Central Research Observational Nacelle). The land of CRON is facing many problems brought on by the encroachment of Sheltem and the adventurers must travel through CRON, the four elemental planes and even through time to help Corak stop Sheltem from flinging CRON into its sun."-Wikipedia
GRAPHICS: 5/20
I'm not that impressed with the graphics to be honest, M&M Book 2 did a much better job in this department. The Display and menu system looks messy and cramped. towns, dungeons, and such look reminiscent of the old DOS system type graphics even though this was a step up from part 1 on the NES. Later on areas do get a little better but still look OLD as hell compared to Book 2. Spells and attacks are barely visible, and i'm pretty sure the monsters are not animated and just stand there.
SOUND: 10/20
The sound is not that bad, i've heard worse on the SNES. The OST is okay but nothing really to rave about, and you'll probably end up using your own music about an hour or so in. The sound effects are okay also, still that annoying bump into walls sound present but well.. get used to the game over sound too unless you are cheating with codes.
GAMEPLAY: 5/20
Like every game of this genre, move around, explore, fight monsters whilst moving the story on. Take quests off people and help with their request, buys/sell from stores, rest at INNS, travel to other villages.. and so on. The world of Cron is huge and you can easily get lost if you don't know where you are heading. The game is incredibly hard (as you see in the video) so saving extremely often helps, the game is ruthlessly unbalanced at the start until you get better gear. You are more than likely to quit playing than sit through the entire game because of the difficulty.
SYSTEMS: 10/20
Well, there's magic, resting at inns, blacksmiths, npcs, side quests, battles, equipment menus, an auto mapping system to help you navigate, and probably more but I really couldn't stick through the game long enough to find out. What I did see though was pretty standard amount of systems used in a game like this.
OVER ALL: 45/100
Well, this has to be the shorted gameplay video i've ever done, it's ridiculously hard and only for die-hard fans of these types of games or this franchise. Do I recommend it now..? well, probably not unless you like challenges, or a fan of this franchise and genre.
