Might and Magic: Book 2 is a Dungeon-Crawler RPG for the Super Nintendo/Famicom. It was released in 1993, Developed by Starcraft, and Published by LOZC G. Amusements. The English Fan-Translation was released in 2018 by MrRichard999.

NOTE: In 1993 Might and Magic II: Gates to Another World was published for Super Nintendo in two different versions, Might and Magic II, the western version that was developed by Iguana Entertainment and distributed by Elite in Europe (its launch in America was canceled), and Might and Magic: Book II, this exclusive version for Japan developed by Starcraft and distributed by LOZC G. Amusements that had many differences: different graphic section, changes in the appearance of the NPCs and enemies, new musical themes, less difficulty.


STORY: 5/20
A party of 5 people explore the World of Cron for a grand adventure, all in the name glory and fame. Though there's one overarching story of fame and glory there are several smaller stories that take place in the form of quest given to you by NPCS. The story is so basic at least some of the other M&M games have some sort of deeper story.

GRAPHICS: 14/20
I really like the graphics, if there's one thing these M&M games for me bring to mind is they are not really that great on the early systems graphically but yeah.. this game they seems quite nice. The monsters look pretty cool, areas look nice, spells and skill don't look that great unfortunately so for me this is where the game fails mostly for the graphics department.

SOUND: 10/20
So, the game I think in the OST collection has around 18/19 tracks, it seems a lot but when the tracks are used in places over and over and when maps are so large they get repetitive.. that's not to say some of the tracks ain't good.. some are and some not so much. The game has a couple of sound effects but really not that many, I think the one that will annoy you the most will be the one that is made when you're looking for invisible walls and its not.

GAMEPLAY: 12/20
So, this game don't really follow the conventional M&M games in terms of gameplay, this one feels more like it's a Jrpg more than a 1st person dungeon crawler, i actually quite like it and i'm not one to enjoy games like this usually. The maps are huge and fun to explore, all the turns, corridors, and hidden walls you can go through. Quests are pretty generic but not as straight forward as they may seem, you don't get much of any clue where to find something. Movement is quite fluid and easy enough to get used to. Getting money to buy spells, armor, and such is pretty easy, and there's quite a few NPCs to talk to and help out if they need it.

TRANSLATION: 20/20
The translation is great, though there really ain't much story wise to have been translated, as with most dungeon crawling games of this age. I didn't see any graphical glitches or text overflow in menus, shops, etc// so all seems well in that department. So, I couldn't find much of anything wrong with the translation, it's a nice piece of work done by MrRichard999.

OVER ALL: 61/100
Its an okay dungeon crawler with Jrpg elements, it's not that bad of a game but still being it's own thing compared to other M&M games. Do I recommend this game now? hmm..? maybe if you're into these types of games this retro for the genre, otherwise probably not.
