Nancy Drew: Labyrinth of Lies Playthrough - A Former Mod Questions the Arrangement of a Theatre Set
Greetings, Nancy Drew fans!
In this playthrough, I dive into Athens and Greek History in HeR Interactive's 31st Nancy Drew Mystery Adventure game, Nancy Drew: Labyrinth of Lies (2014)!
I used to struggle with the idea of this game. The setup of the theatre and its underground "set" makes no sense to me. There's also a lot of dialogue that we sit through but aren't active participants in. The introduction to the mystery is a bit wonky. Plus, I think HeR could have incorporated far more Greek mythology and culture into the game than they did. They missed some opportunities to really enrich their story.
However, playing it again now, I have come to better appreciate the game. The plot is somewhat unique (as far as who is involved). Niobe's rehearsals are hysterical. And there are some really great puzzles (give me logic puzzles and I am happy--and there are plenty in this game)! The music is fitting and I do appreciate the look of each environment (but, the museum could have been much fuller).
What are your thoughts on this game? Feel free to share in the comments!
Thank you for watching. Enjoy!
