Nancy Drew: The Deadly Device - Comparing the novels (1997 & 2002) with the game (2012)
Welcome everyone to another book to game comparison video! In this video, I look at The Deadly Device (2012) and the two novels it is based on: In and Out of Love (1997) of the Nancy Drew on Campus series, and The Crime Lab Case (2002) of the Nancy Drew Digest Paperback series.
Please note both a spoiler warning and trigger alert. This video discusses murder and suicide. Please do not continue with the video if either of these topics make you uncomfortable. If you would like someone to speak with about suicidal ideation, or know someone who may want someone to talk to, Canadians can call 9-8-8 to access the Suicide Crisis Hotline.
With regard to this video, we will learn what elements from both stories HeR Interactive used as inspiration and included in their game. We'll see a few minor, yet important, details from one book integrated into the game, while the location and basis of the second book used in a similar way as in the game. HeR Interactive's story remains unique, but it is clear that they drew inspiration from the two noted books.
Thank you for watching, and stay well.
