Bomberman content still, not the type of content or the game you signed up for but whatever, i wanted to re-record Neo Bomberman for days, and i finally did it yesterday. I started with Battle mode and i should of played in "Level-8" but i was at Arena 3 when i realized that so, for another time.
Battle mode of this game is weird, it has his own story so you can only choose 4 arenas, once you select one you can quit that arena unless you purposefully die and let the continue screen count down to 0. CPUs are somewhat dumb at times making this easy, yes i died a few times, mostly for stupid mistakes and pther times because i was distracted, still, CPUs in this game aren't smart at all, maybe if it was at level-8 they could of been more hard?.
As for characters, we have our usual 4 normal bombermans along with other characters with special abilities that could break the game, From fake bombs, to last explosions, to teletransport randomly, to be able to pass soft blocks, this game is fair as fuck. I selected Cat Bomber, mostly because i wasn't in the mood of picking the normal bomberman and because most of the characters are broken, There's 2 characters however that are kinda not viable in this game, Honey and Cat Bomber, why? RNG, Cat can dash erratically to stun enemies and make them lose power panels, Honey can make Heart shaped bombs that move randomly across the Map and can be deadly for everyone, including Honey itself, so i you went with Cat Bomber the entire game.
Power-Ups are very limited for a bomberman game, this was done in 1997, and Bomberman 5 came out the same year for the SNES, and that game has more power-ups and better battle mode, my guess is that, since this is a NEO GEO, they didn't knew still how the engine worked and decided not to put many power-ups.
