The game’s energy system is conventional, offering a solid foundation for decision-making, though it lacks the innovative spark. The progression system offers an interesting dichotomy: while the act-based structure provides natural points for deck evolution, the need to restart with a basic deck between acts feels a bit formulaic. This approach brings to mind the more refined progression systems found in "Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales."
The creature collection aspect adds a layer of meta-progression that’s engaging. The Mystling evolution system shows potential, but the limited creature pool at launch restricts the diversity of strategic approaches. The hand-drawn art style is charming, though it lacks the polish of genre-defining titles. The UI is good but unrefined, especially in the overworld navigation.
