Overboost is a high speed boost that allows for great mobility and has been a staple in AC since Armored Core 2. Armored Core 3 introduced Exceed Orbit cores, which gave cores of this type built in semi autonomous weapons. While EO's do have advantages and niche use, they are without a doubt the weaker core option in general.

New players that haven't learned how to control their lockbox may be tempted to use EO cores to let the EO's worry about attacking for them, but this isn't a good path to start down. A new player would most likely benefit more from learning OB and all the advantages it provides.

EO only becomes truly viable for AC vs AC combat in Armored Core Nexus where they gain the ability to lead targets and see an increase in hit rate.
