María Miahuaxochitl

Biography: María Miahuaxochitl was born into a simple pastoral life near modern day Guanajuato, Mexico, but soon found herself thrust into the passion and politics of the reign of Moctezuma II as a secondary wife. Her focus changed with his influence, and María is said to have been unabashedly brazen.
Genealogical Notes: Married Moctezuma II on October 16, 1502. Mother of Don Pedro Moctezuma. Grandmother of Diego Luis Moctezuma.
