This is an an example of an old Safari Zone related glitch, similar to the walk through walls without Gameshark glitch. (Thanks to Paco81 for bringing this back up)

A Safari Zone game can be played in the dark, if the Glitch City trick is performed and the player runs out of steps in Rock Tunnel, though Poison or the move Fly, Dig or Teleport is needed to safely escape the Glitch City.

Steps:
1)Perform the Glitch City glitch (enter the Safari Zone, exit and choose 'No' when prompted on the "leaving early?" query. Save the game and reset, exit and choose 'No' on the "join the hunt?" query.
2)Walk around in Rock Tunnel (without Flash), until you run out of Safari Zone steps. You will return to the Safari Zone entrance, but in the dark.
3)You can play one Safari Zone game in the dark, but leaving the Safari Zone in any way removes the darkness.
