1The battle with Brock is easy, but I needed a X-Attack to power up Feraligatr even more. All his Pokémon are OHKO'd, but Omastar survives. I used a weaker Crunch to avoid that Brock heals it. I left the gym after beating him. I took a risk to go over a patch of tall grass without a Repel. I passed through Viridian City, Route 1 and Pallet Town.
I dodged every trainer on Route 21 and ignored the destroyed Cinnabar Island One very easy trainer is required on Route 20. I entered Seafoam Island where the gym is. Three trainers are required to battle, but I OHKO'd all their Fire Pokémon. Blaine himself is also easy. I used a X-Speed to outspeed all his Pokémon. Sunny Day forced me to use Earthquake to OHKO all his Pokémon instead of Waterfall. I left the gym and flew back to Saffron City. I entered the gym there and saved.
