Pokemon Online - Unevolved Team vs. OU (PO Replay)
16I'm not a very frequent visitor of Pokemon Online but every once in a while I'm bored enough to create a team just for shits and giggles to see what real people do against it.
In this video I present a team made of unevolved Pokemon only. It used to have a Light Ball Pikachu in it, until I realised Pikachu is the second tier form of Pichu and has been one since, what, gen 2? I switched him out for Magnemite.
When you're unevolved, there's not much attacking you can do, especially in a pretty offensive weather-based environment. For that reason, stall is a major theme of this team. There's sandstorm, toxic, phazing, stealth rock, spikes and all those goodies. 5 Pokemon out of 6 on this team are equipped with Eviolite, which makes them decent enough checks to certain moves and Pokemon. The exception is Clamperl whose DeepSeaTooth and access to Shell Smash makes it a destructive special sweeper.
To be honest, any good player shouldn't have trouble beating this team. Heck, you don't even need to have skill. Something fast and powerful with Earthquake and a fire-type move, like Salamence or something, can easily 6-0 it, not giving me any chance to retaliate.
I've won a few battles with this team, pretty much against players who aren't very good. You know the kind of player who just hits everything he sees, and just might switch out when he realises he can't hit anymore? This is essentially the case in this replay.
The opponent in this video had weird choices of moves on his team. Giga Drain on Breloom and no Mach Punch, no Leaf Storm/Contrary on Serperior, Water Pulse 0_O... Funny how Water Pulse was the thing that took my Clamperl down.
I took out 5 of my opponent's Pokemon, he took out one of mine, then he forfeited (only paralysed, weakened Milotic was alive, and I had a Magnemite with Substitute raping face).
