Here is this week's Surprise Trade, and there will not be one for next week, so the next Surprise Trade video will be in two weeks time. I will be trading Tynamo for this week, and I breed for 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats, and the Nature that I went with is Adamant, my initial choice was Quiet because when Tynamo evolves, it loses Speed, to go over base Speed, Tynamo has base 60, Eelektrik has 40, and Eelektross has 50, and the reason I went with Adamant is because of the improvements Eelektross recived in The Indigo Disk update. The Tynamo line are mixed attackers with solid stats, but Tynamo itself is very weak, its only Ability is Levitate, which does effectively give it no weakness due to being an Electric-type.
To go over moves, Tynamo's base moves are Tackle, Spark, Thunder Wave, and Charge Beam, and for moves it can learn through TM, it learns Tera Blast, Knock Off, and Charge. For its evolutions, Tynamo has to wait till Level 39 in order to evolve into Eelektrik, and going over its moves, it can get Crunch, Headbutt, Bind, Acid, Discharge, Thunderbolt, Acid Spray, Coil, Wild Charge, Gastro Acid, Zap Cannon, and Thrash. To evolve Eelektrik into Eelektross, it will require a Thunder Stone, and it can learn Crush Claw, which Eelektrik cannot learn. The downside to being a stone evolution is that once you evolve Eelektrik, you miss out on many moves, in this case, Eelektross cannot learn Spark, Thunder Wave, Charge Beam, Bind, Thunderbolt, Acid Spray, and Tackle, but it can learn some of them through TM, I really hate this, because this is a step back to how they handled stone evolutions in Sword & Shield, and I hate when they step back from massive improvements.
Then for TMs, and I will go over what Eelektross can learn, it can get Thunder Fang, Acrobatics, Confuse Ray, Bulldoze, Hex, Rock Tomb, Dragon Tail, Volt Switch, Brick Break, Zen Headbutt, U-turn, Bulk Up, Body Slam, Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Electro Ball, Drain Punch, Light Screen, Dragon Claw, Stomping Tantrum, Rock Slide, Body Press, Flash Cannon, Eerie Impulse, Liquidation, Giga Drain, Dragon Pulse, Heavy Slam, Flamethrower, Giga Impact, Outrage, Hyper Beam, Thunder, Close Combat, Tera Blast, Knock Off, Super Fang, Lunge, Focus Punch, Supercell Slam, Electroweb, and Throat Chop.
I have an interesting history with Eelektross, back in Pokémon Black & White when they had online competitions, I used an Eelektross as like a signature Pokémon, even though it wasn't one of my favourites from Gen 5, but I did like how it was a Pokémon that had no weakness due to Levitate, sure there are ways to bypass that with Abilities like Mold Breaker or moves like Smack Down, and it had good stats all-around. The Eelektross that I used back then was a physical set with Wild Charge, Acrobatics, Dragon Claw, and U-turn with the Flying Gem, and it did have Speed investment, despite not knowing that Eelektross had a low base Speed. I did use an Eelektross in Gen 6, it was in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, it was an Assault Vest set with Volt Switch, Giga Drain, Flamethrower, and a Fighting-type move, I want to say it was Drain Punch, it was a more defensive take to it, and I did train up an Eelektross in this game for online battles, this is a Pokémon that I really liked using back in the day.
Eelektross's improvement was its access to Supercell Slam, which pairs very well with Coil, and it has access to Liquidation, Knock Off, Drain Punch, and many other moves to put to use. Its best Tera Type option is Steel to give it many resistances, while Fairy is a good Tera Type option for it. Supercell Slam was a good addition for a physical Electric-type move, and it's not just Eelektross that benefitted from the improvement, it also helped Zebstrika, Electivire, and many others.
Eelektross isn't really the best in Double Battles, while Levitate is nice when partnered with an Earthquake user, most Ground-types tend to use High Horsepower for their Ground-type move due to being a single target move. With Pokémon like Raging Bolt, Iron Hands, and Wash Rotom as top Electric-types, and with Rotom also getting Levitate, it is hard to find a place for Eelektross on a team.
It is a solid Pokémon for Tera Raid Battles, it has access to Lunge and Acid Spray to decrease stats, and it can set up with Coil to hit hard with Supercell Slam, but there are better Electric-types, and Eelektross will require team support to be able to do well in them. While Eelektross is great when going through the game, it is a long road from the Tynamo stage, and while you can evolve Eelektrik right away with a Thunder Stone, you can hold off till Level 49 to get Thunderbolt before evolving it, but then again, Eelektross learns most of its good moves through TM.
