For this week's Surprise Trade, I will be trading Togepi, and the first Generation 2 Pokémon to be introduced, technically it was Ho-Oh in the first Pokémon Anime episode, and Togepi did appear in the Anime before the release of Gen 2, and it was the first Pokémon from Gen 2 to have its name revealed. I breed for 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats, and I went with Modest for the Nature, as the Togepi line tend to be used as Special Attackers, Calm can work as well, as it can work defensively as well. Some Togepi have the Hidden Ability of Super Luck, while some have Serene Grace, and Togepi itself cannot breed, it has to be evolved into Togetic in order to breed.
The Egg Moves I went with were Extrasensory, Morning Sun, Present, and Psycho Shift, Togepi can get Peck as well, but I didn't want to put a weak move onto it, and it does get Aerial Ace, which isn't worth it as Togepi is not a Physical Attacker, I will list which parents in the Flying and Fairy Egg Groups that can learn those moves.
Aerial Ace: Farfetch'd, Rufflet, Braviary, Fletchling, Fletchinder, Talonflame, Hawlucha
Extrasensory: Hoothoot, Noctowl
Morning Sun: Cherubi, Cherrim
Peck: Farfetch'd, G-Farfetch'd, Hoothoot, Noctowl, Natu, Xatu, Skarmory, Swablu, Altaria, Rufflet, Braviary, Fletchling, Fletchinder, Talonflame, Rowlet, Dartrix, Decidueye, Rookidee, Corvisquire, Corviknight, Cramorant, Sirfetch'd
Present: Pikachu, Raichu, Clefairy, Clefable, Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff, Marill, Azumarill, Togedemaru (Requires Chain Breeding)
Psycho Shift: Hoothoot, Noctowl, Natu, Xatu

With Present, Pikachu, Marill, and Togedemaru learn it through chain breeding with Delibird, while the rest have to have the move chain-bred onto them, and it's not really worth it, as Present is not that great, but it's better than Peck. In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Togepi learns Future Sight and Stored Power, and I would recommend Stored Power over Present, it doesn't get Aerial Ace in those games, as it is a TM there.
Next is level up moves, Togepi learns Sweet Kiss, Life Dew, Charm, Ancient Power, Yawn, Metronome, After You, Double-Edge, Safeguard, Follow Me, Baton Pass, Last Resort, and Wish. It evolves into Togetic when it has a high enough friendship, and it requires a Shiny Stone to be fully evolved into Togekiss. Togetic learns Fairy Wind upon evolution, and Togekiss learns Air Slash, and can relearn Aura Sphere, Extreme Speed, Sky Attack, and Tri Attack.
Next is TMs and TRs in Sword & Shield, Togekiss can learn Fly, Magical Leaf, Thunder Wave, Solar Beam, Reflect, Light Screen, Charm, Steel Wing, Brick Break, Drain Punch, Draining Kiss, Mystical Fire, Smart Strike, and many others, and for TRs, it can learn Flamethrower, Psychic, Fire Blast, Amnesia, Psyshock, Shadow Ball, Hyper Voice, Nasty Plot, Grass Knot, Dazzling Gleam, and many other moves, and it learns Dual Wingbeat for its Tutor move. In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Togekiss learns Defog, Water Pulse, Focus Punch, Shock Wave, Roost, and some other moves.
Togekiss is an excellent Pokémon in competitive battling, its Fairy/Flying-type and access to Serene Grace make it really good in battle. It can use Air Slash and Dazzling Gleam for its main STAB moves, and it has good coverage in moves like Flamethrower, Psychic, and Aura Sphere, and it can use Nasty Plot to boost its Special Attack, and it is a powerful Dynamax user, because Max Airstream is that good of a move to have. It can even use Morning Sun for a healing move, and Ancient Power to work well with Serene Grace.
In Double Battles, Super Luck tends to be preferred, specially on Dynamax sets, and the one advantage is Togekiss can learn Follow Me, and it can make use of support moves like Ally Switch and Helping Hand, its pre-evolved form Togetic can be decent with the Eviolite, while Togekiss has a higher Special Attack stat, so Togekiss might be preferred for that role.
In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Togekiss can get Roost, and it can use Air Slash, Dazzling Gleam, and Flamethrower for its main moves, Togekiss can even use the Thunder Wave and Air Slash combo, which is one of the most annoying combos to deal with, because with Serene Grace, Togekiss can get a bunch of flinches through Air Slash that way. In Double Battles, Togekiss is the main user of Follow Me, but it can be a good attacker with Air Slash and Dazzling Gleam.
The Togepi line has remained a good Pokémon throughout the competitive scene ever since Togekiss's introduction in Gen 4, Togetic hasn't had competitive success in Generation 2 and 3, so it mostly has to do with Togekiss, and when it gained the Fairy-type in Gen 6, this made Togekiss one of the best Fairy-type Pokémon available in the game.
