I still have the rest of the snow routes left for Snowpoint City, while the snow routes have really nice music, I am not a fan of going through them because of the deep snow, this was even worse in the originals when it slowed you down, and there is having to deal with the hail in battle, but there is one item that you want to pick up on that route.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

I did go over Snover and Sneasel in the last part, as they are some Ice-type Pokémon you can encounter on those routes, and in Platinum, you would find Snorunt and Swinub as well, they can also be found in the Grand Underground, so it is time to go over them.
There is a new area in the Grand Underground from Snowpoint City or any of the connecting routes, and you can access some ice caves, and some good items like the Lucky Egg, Leftovers, and many others, so it is worth exploring. As for encounters, I will start with Snorunt, it is very weak, and it doesn't evolve until Level 42, and even though you can find its evolved form Glalie in the Grand Underground, it is an underwhelming Pokémon, it has base 80 for all of its stats, and it is an Ice-type, don't bother with Glalie, it is really bad. Female Snorunt evolve into Froslass with the Dawn Stone, this is worth going for, Froslass has higher Speed at the cost of its defensive stats, and it can learn the move Destiny Bond, which it can use to its advantage, and it can use Ice Beam and Shadow Ball for good attacking moves. As with Egg Moves, Snorunt can get Spikes, Weather Ball, Fake Tears, and Icicle Crash for possible moves, and Physical Froslass, despite praising it in Sword & Shield, you cannot get Poltergeist or Triple Axel on it in this game, as those are moves that were never carried over to this game.
Next is Swinub, and this is the better Pokémon, while you can encounter it early on, I would wait till after getting your fourth Badge to catch Swinub, so that way you can evolve it into Piloswine as soon as possible, and you can reteach Ancient Power and level it up once to evolve it into Mamoswine. As for stats, Mamoswine has a massive Attack stat, and it has great stats all-around, and it can use Ice Fang and Earthquake, although Swinub learns Earthquake at Level 45 as opposed to 51 when it evolves, Mamoswine can use Bulldoze until then, and it can learn Ice Shard for a good priority move. As for Egg Moves, Swinub learns some really good moves, like Icicle Crash, Icicle Spear, Curse, and a few others, I recommend Icicle Crash, so that once it is fully evolved into Mamoswine, this will give it a great Ice-type move to make use of, so I would high recommend it if you need an Ice-type for your team.
This route does have Medicham, which is better than having to train up a Meditite to Level 37, the good thing about Medicham is you can reteach Zen Headbutt and the Elemental Punches, so if you didn't bother with training up Meditite, you can catch the evolved Medicham on this route to give you a good team member.
On Route 217, there is an icy rock, this is where you can evolve Eevee into Glaceon, and the house nearby, talk to the woman to get a Spell Tag, and there are some items you can pick up, some hidden items, but one that you really want to pick up is near the Hiker's house, it is the TM for Rock Climb, if you talk to the Hiker, he will tell you he dropped a TM, this is a hint to pick up the TM, and if you talk to him after doing so, he gives you an Icicle Plate, which boosts the power of Ice-type moves.
While I do like the music for the snow routes, they can be tricky to get through, it was even worse in Diamond & Pearl where you would go very slowly when walking through the deep snow, but the nice thing is you can leave a trail of snow if you walk through it.
When you reach Acuity Lakefront, a bunch of Galactic Grunts are blocking the entrance, so we can't even check on Barry and help him out. As with Snowpoint City, I will go over it in the next part, but you can access the Grand Underground and explore some new areas and collect some good items, the one you really want to get is the Lucky Egg, this can be very helpful with training up your lower level Pokémon.
