This week, I will be trading Helioptile through Surprise Trade, and how this works is that I will breed 31 IVs in at least 4 or 5 stats when trading a box of Pokémon. For the Nature, I went with Timid, as Helioptile's best stat is Speed, and it has good Special Attack as well, some of them have Solar Power, which is its Hidden Ability, and some have Dry Skin, another good Ability to have on it.
As with the Egg Moves, it can get Dragon Rush, Dragon Tail, and Glare, strange choices as Helioptile is an Electric/Normal-type, and it learns two Dragon-type moves through breeding. I will list which parents in the Monster and Dragon Egg Groups that can learn those moves, at least it is in the Dragon Egg Group.
Dragon Rush: Dratini, Dragonair, Dragonite, Vibrava, Flygon, Gible, Gabite, Garchomp, Deino, Zweilous, Hydreigon, Flapple, Drakloak, Dragapult
Dragon Tail: Dratini, Dragonair, Dragonite, Vibrava, Flygon, Milotic, Salamence, Druddigon, Tyrunt, Tyrantrum, Jangmo-o, Hakamo-o, Kommo-o, Duraludon
Glare: Drampa, Silicobra, Sandaconda

With just three Egg Moves, at least that is all it gets, Glare is a nice for Helioptile and its evolved form Heliolisk, as it does have a good Speed stat to put that move to use.
Helioptile does require a Sun Stone to evolve into Heliolisk, and for its level up moves, it can learn Mud-Slap, Tail Whip, Pound, Thunder Shock, Quick Attack, Charge, Bulldoze, Volt Switch, Parabolic Charge, Thunder Wave, Thunderbolt, Electrify, and Thunder. Its evolved form Heliolisk learns Eerie Impulse and Discharge, as those are the moves it cannot learn as a Helioptile.
Next is TMs and TRs, I will mainly be going over Heliolisk's moves, as there are some that Helioptile cannot learn, for TMs, it can learn Thunder Punch, Fire Punch, Solar Beam, Light Screen, Dig, Rock Slide, Swift, Weather Ball, Rock Tomb, U-turn, Low Sweep, Electroweb, Electric Terrain, Brutal Swing, and Breaking Swipe, and for TRs, it can learn Surf, Agility, Hyper Voice, Dark Pulse, Dragon Pulse, Focus Blast, Grass Knot, Electro Ball, Ally Switch, and Wild Charge, and for its Tutor moves, it can learn Rising Voltage and Scale Shot.
Heliolisk can be a tricky Pokémon to use in battle, while it does have a good Speed and Special Attack stat, it is very frail, it cannot take a Physical hit well, so it usually tends to use a Focus Sash for its held item. The preferred Ability for Heliolisk is Dry Skin, and for moves, it would have Surf, Thunderbolt for its possible moves, Volt Switch is there to switch out, and Glare for paralyzing its targets, Heliolisk does get some nice coverage moves like Grass Knot, Dark Pulse, and Focus Blast, and it does get STAB from Hyper Voice, which isn't a bad move to have on it. Heliolisk does face competition with many better Electric-type Pokémon, and its Normal-type does give it a weakness to Fighting-type moves.
I find that Solar Power is better in Double Battles if you have sun support, and it can learn Ally Switch which is a nice move to have, while Thunderbolt and Hyper Voice are its main moves, Hyper Voice hitting both targets in a Double Battle. Heliolisk is one of few Pokémon to learn the move Electrify, the only other Pokémon that can learn it is Boltund. Electrify changes the target's move to an Electric-type, so that can be nice if it has a Dynamaxed teammate so they can use Max Lightning and set up Electric Terrain, and if Heliolisk has Rising Voltage, this will increase the power of that move. Heliolisk can even learn Solar Beam, which can provide type coverage against Ground-type Pokémon, that is a good move to have on a sun team, there are a good amount of options to choose from when using Heliolisk, but it is hard to fit onto a team because of its frailty to Physical Attacks.
I do like Heliolisk's design, but I wouldn't say it is one of my favourite Pokémon, Generation 6 does have some really good designs for some Pokémon, and I do like how Helioptile is the only Pokémon that evolves with a Sun Stone that is not a Grass-type Pokémon, and another good thing about the Helioptile line is all of its Abilities are based around different weather effect, it has Dry Skin to heal damage when it is raining, but it takes damage when the sun is out, it has Sand Veil to increase its evasiveness in a sandstorm, and it has Solar Power to boost its Special Attack stat when the sun is active.
