I am playing through Classic Mode with Diddy Kong for this video, and how I do Classic Mode is that I randomize a list to decide who my next characters will be, the playlist will display the fighters in order of how they are displayed on the roster. Diddy Kong's Classic Mode route is Hey, Little Buddy!, that line got popularized in the Donkey Kong Country TV show, and he is referred to as Donkey Kong's little buddy, and Diddy Kong is actually Donkey Kong's nephew, I did not know this until I read Donkey Kong's info in Super Smash Bros. 64. On this route, Diddy Kong teams up with many different characters from various Nintendo franchises to defeat their villains.
To unlock Diddy Kong, there are many different ways, and one of them is through Vs. Matches, where Diddy Kong is the 37th character to be unlocked, and he is the 7th character unlocked by completing Classic Mode with Donkey Kong or anyone in his unlock tree after Greninja.
In Round 1, your opponents are Bowser and Bowser Jr., the stage is Princess Peach's Castle, and you team up with Mario as a CPU Ally. In Round 2, your opponents are Ridley and Dark Samus, they are fought on Norfair, and you team up with Zero Suit Samus as a CPU Ally. In Round 3, you fight against Ganondorf on Unova Pokémon League in Battlefield Form, and Zelda is your CPU Ally for that battle. In Round 4, your opponent is Mewtwo, the stage is Spear Pillar, and you team up with Pokémon Trainer as your CPU Ally. In Round 5, you fight both King Dedede and Meta Knight, the stage is Fountain of Dreams, and you team up with Kirby as your CPU Ally. In Round 6, you finally team up with Donkey Kong, and you fight against King K. Rool on Jungle Japes.
Next up is the Bonus Stage, and at the end, you fight both Master Hand and Crazy Hand on any difficulty, and you team up with Donkey Kong as a CPU Ally for that fight as well.
After that, the credits will roll, and the music for completing Classic Mode with Diddy Kong is Stickerbrush Symphony, which was also called Bramble Blast in Brawl. You then earn the Fighter Spirit for Diddy Kong if you completed Classic Mode with him for the first time.
