Quake beta3's E2M6 contains an underground cave area not seen in the final version of the map. This area was released by Romero in the 00s before being readded to E2M6 in the 2021 Quake remaster released by Night Dive Studios.

There's something else interesting too: if you approach the bars blocking the exit, the message that appears will call the rune a "sigint". This is the only time runes are called that in this prototype.

This map has been played in Hard difficulty in order to show off every enemy spawn that the level has.
