The version of E2M7 seen in the Quake beta3 prototype contains an elaborate way to get the Quad Damage secret. The Quad is on a perch overlooking the room, and pressing the switch slowly lowers the perch. This is changed to an alcove blocked by a bar that is raised when the switch.

There doesn't seem to be a way to reach the mapper signiture secret, unlike the final game.

The nail shooter room has the fire on the shooter itself hovering above it instead of on top of it. Oops!

This map has been played in Hard difficulty in order to show off every enemy spawn that the level has.
