Quest v77 PTC Hides Quite a Few Secrets!
1,331It’s been a packed week in the world of XR! Quest v77 is rolling out with a host of new features, UI changes, and hidden updates — and we’ve got a deep dive into everything you need to know.
Quest v77 introduces long-requested customisation options for the Quick Settings menu, new spatial window animations, easier resizing for boundaries, and deeper integration of the upcoming Navigator system — including a new “Me” tab, Global Search app, and early NUX (new user experience) assets. The update also includes a redesigned call/media bar and support for spatial windows in immersive apps.
Meta is also preparing a branding shift, rebranding “Quest+” to “Horizon+.” Meanwhile, HorizonOS is expanding support for more devices — you can now use Motorola phones with Quest 3 and 3S. On the dev side, the Passthrough Camera API is now usable in apps published to the main store, opening the door for more powerful mixed reality experiences.
But not all the news is good — Meta’s Reality Labs just reported a decline in XR revenue this quarter, largely due to a dip in Quest sales.
