728Ray Traced Audio CONFIRMED For Xbox Series X & S | Zen 3 DESTROYED In Multi Thread By Alderlake S
Ray tracing is of course part of both the Xbox Series X / S and the Playstation 5 next gen consoles, but now thanks to an update to Forza Horizon 5, we know that Xbox will be getting ray traced audio. Ray tracing can of course be used for more than just reflections and shadows (although ray traced shadows and reflections are the most well known), but this is the FIRST instance of it being shown on a console.
We discuss the Xbox Series X ray traced audio tech, how ray tracing is used for game sound and music, and what this means for the future of Xbox. Ray traced audio is a really interesting technology, and we have discussed it before when discussing the alternate uses for ray tracing with Nvidia and Khronos Group in past interviews. The big question now is, will we see any Sony exclusives use ray traced audio for the PS5, or will this be a win for team Xbox?
A new benchmark for Intel's Alder Lake has a very interestging results - Zen 3 was DESTROYED in multi thread performance by Alder Lake. More specifically, the Ryzen 5950X found itself being crushed in multi thread performance by the big.LITTLE hybrid CPU. Will Alder Lake finally offer up some real competition against Zen 3, and the future Zen 4 processors?
