New details on the expected performance for RTX 40 have leaked, and Nvidia's RTX Lovelace is looking INSANE with double the performance of RTX 30 Ampere. The battle between RTX 30 GPUs and AMD's RDNA 2 RX 6000 graphics cards has been fierce, and next gen graphics cards are looking very promising from both RTX 40 and RDNA 3.
According to the new performance information which has leaked, Nvidia are not holding back on the architecture and performance improvements for RTX 40 Lovelace, and of course it will go beyond just raw gaming and workload performance. Improvements in ray tracing and tech such as their DLSS upsampling are crucial to the success of RTX 40 Lovelace GPUs.
With RDNA 3 also looking very impressive with it's performance gains over RDNA 2, and of course ray tracing performance and FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution), RTX 40 is going to have to be just as impressive and competitive as RTX 30 Ampere for Nvidia's topend to compete against RDNA 3.
After months of GPU stock issues, graphics card prices are CRASHING as the cryptocurrency bubble bursts and China cracks down on crypto mining. Both availability and pricing across both Nvidia and AMD GPUs are steadily improving, with prices slowly coming down (but still not quite at MSRP).
Leakers have also confirmed that AMD's Threadripper is still a thing this generation. We have yet to see a Threadripper HEDT GPU for the Zen 3 Ryzen 5000 series of processors, but the project is alive and well. Threadripper has performaned insanely well vs Intel's own HEDT offerings, so it will be interesting to see if history repeats once more.
