I always knew this was @BoltJamison's favourite...but now I know why.

Alright, so Deceit isn't the strongest when facing any enemy with an easy weakspot - in fact it might even be slightly below par - but if you're up against anything where you won't be weakspotting 24/7, Deceit's an amazing pick. People who say "worst gun in the game" have no clue what this gun is capable of, one-phasing Kaeula without breaking a sweat.

Learning how to use the gun is a game in itself, with a few possible rotations - the one I've gone with means you'll have 100% weakspot uptime and never have to reload. Just don't miss...

Archetypes:

- Hunter Prime, for those skill extensions - with Deceit, we don't have to worry about lacking weakspots to extend with. Our magdump is too long for Hunter's Shroud, and we're breaking out of ADS to melee too often for Hunter's Focus, so Hunter's Mark it is - the buff to melee damage will come in handy at least.

- Gunslinger with Bulletstorm for our secondary - for closer-range fights you can also go Challenger with Rampage.

Weapons & Mods:

- Deceit, with Supercharger which will give us a big boost to our effective firerate and crit as well. While Deceit's base damage is set pretty high and can be used effectively for bodyshooting adds, for bosses and elites we're going to want to use the mod as often as possible. You can melee to throw one sword and activate weakspots, but instead I prefer charge attacking to throw all swords, which lets us charge the mod during the magdump - as activating the mod instantly fills the magazine, we can use this as a reload skip as well.

- While you can throw swords even with your bare fists, we need a projectile melee to actually hit the enemy and generate that extra bit of mod power to get a charge back. My preference is Hero's Sword, as it swings just a little faster than the rest - Krell Axe is also another solid choice, as its Overloads make it easier to build mod charge. I like Reinvigorate, for keeping that stamina cost low.

- Free choice of handgun slot, though I recommed something with a fire-and-forget mod - Deceit's playstyle is pretty busy so you want to be able to just focus on its rotation. I went with Nebula for Swarm.

Trinkets:

- Butcher's Fetish fits really nicely with our Deceit rotation - Akari Warband bumps up our Crits even further, though you can sub in Braided Thorns when mobbing. Zania's is always a strong pick for weakspot damage, even more so here given Deceit starts with a lower weakspot modifier.

- Burden of the Follower is key here, as it gets us just enough mod power for one charge in one magdump, letting us skip the reload. The firerate penalty actually doesn't hit Deceit as hard, as a lot of its effective firerate is down to its charge speed instead - Archer's Crest helps in that department. I'm avoiding Faerin's Ring for now as I'm not sure what it'll be like after it's fixed, but it might be a good replacement for Follower too.

Traits:

- Spirit is crucial for that precious mod charge - Flash Caster is also particularly useful as it's essentially our 'reload speed' in this rotation.

- Endurance and Recovery are more important than usual given the stamina cost of Hero's Sword charge attacks.

- Expertise for the skill cooldowns - we do our best DPS during Bulletstorm, so we want that active as much as possible.

Consumables:

- Shaedberry for that crucial mod gen.

Relic:

- Take your pick of relic, nothing specific required.

- For fragments, Crit Chance for damage, Firerate for DPS and to offset Follower, and Mod Cost is crucial.

Armour:

- Take your pick. Fashion is Danger.

Playstyle:

- Pop your skills, pop your mods, charge attack with Hero's Sword, dump the mag, repeat.

- If you miss a shot, you'll have to reload manually and get another shot in to charge up the mod. No biggy.
