One of my correspondents requested a video of Part 1 of this project with the original audio. (I had to record the levels again to make this video, so although my solutions have not changed, they will be different in detail, mostly as I avoid the small slip-ups I made before and make different ones elsewhere.) The remainder of this commentary is copied across from the other version of this video:

Repton 3 comes with a built-in editor, and many fans over the years have used this to create their own screens. The website 8-Bit Software (http://8bs.com/submit/subrepton.htm) has assembled a group of these and released them into the public domain; I myself do not know anything more than this about the origin of these screens. As one might expect, they vary drastically in quality, but a few sets are easily on a par with the official Repton 3 and Repton Spectacular screens, and for this video series I shall confine myself to recording the better ones.

Firstly, "Pain", the easier of two sets (the other being "Agony") that are clearly by the same designer, judging by their style, although the 8-Bit Software page does not give the designer's identity. This video contains the first four screens. Screens A and B are easy starter levels, though not without a few pitfalls to watch out for; on Screen B the transporter can only be taken after completing the outer part of the level.

Screens C and D have lower time limits, though with a little care both can be completed without taking all the time capsules. Both also have somewhat more complex spirit, monster and boulder puzzles than the first two screens. Overall, these screens are good examples of how to design fun easy screens that do not, as many easy screens do, end up being boring to complete; however, the difficulty will be turned up a notch in the second half of the set.
