The themed graphics are a large part of the appeal of Around the World in 40 Screens, The Life of Repton and Repton Thru Time; but it is still interesting to consider what some of the levels would look like in standard graphics. It turns out that nearly all the level sets use a "standard" colour scheme (with yellow and green as the second and third colours); the exceptions are Arctic and OAP, which use red, white and green; and Future, which uses blue, white and green. In addition, Oceans, OAP and Victorian all have invisible safes, making some levels appear startlingly different.

This is one such level. In the room on the left, three spirits circle a row of safes that would normally be invisible; Repton must find a way to get past them at least twice and then push an egg along the row to release them. This becomes far easier when the safes are visible (although on the original BBC version one can use the map to locate the safes, since the map graphics remain the same).

The music for this video is "My Grandfather's Clock", by Henry C. Work, sung by Sam Cooke.
