Level 6 (Signs of the Times) from the Now scenario.

If the shortcut on Teens 8 is one of the game's most easily overlooked, the one on this level is certainly among the most audacious. By killing the first monster one place left of where I normally would, I can get the key before leaving the starting area, opening up passages between the separate areas of the level and avoiding one transporter entirely. (In spite of the number of rocks on safes in the timebomb room, nothing becomes trapped when you take the key, a discovery I owe to testpilotmonkey.) This leads to an improvement of 37 seconds on my previous best time.

One problem with this is that the second monster remains in the initial area, and requires care to deal with. If he is too close behind you when you take the transporter, he will get stuck, and will probably kill you when you transport back into the initial area (unfortunately unavoidable as there is a diamond behind the transporter). The cure for this is to lure him back out by killing the bottom monster before unblocking the vertical corridor to the left of the starting area. Note also that if the top-right area is handled correctly, there is no need to push one of the rocks that fall down the right-hand column under the skull.

A feature of this route is that the two spirits in the top-left are the last two to be caged. This means that the loose cage must be connected by the more complicated method shown, as if you simply lower the rock above the cage, one spirit going into it will daze the other. I find that this is still the fastest way to complete the level.
