S T A L K E R: Call of Pripyat - ( 2022 ) Video #176: The River Port ( Part 1 )
I want to travel to the Old Service Center, where I know the other set of Calibration tools are located. However, looking at my PDA Map, I can't take the direct route from the south because I don't want to get near the School and make Zulu and the snork attack go on-line yet. The fence line to the west of that forces me too close to the Yubileiny Service Center, where I don't want to bring all those Zombies on-line either. That means my only choice is taking a route to the far east to avoid both of those places, which means going through the River Port.
Since I am going in that direction, I decide to go ahead and make another visit to the Hospital. Why? I wasn't happy with the one stash that I found there. I remember there being more but my quick run through both floors and both wings didn't find anymore. I think I was just too quick and not as observant as I should have been. So, the first stop is the Hospital.
As it turns out my memory was correct. I did indeed find several more stashes including much needed ammo behind some furniture, ammo hidden on top of a surgery light and a grenade launcher and several rounds for NATO rifles stashed in a piece of equipment. I even found a stash of three vodka bottles that not only could I not reach them but using Demo_Record did not work to grab them either. Even though the screen prompt appeared identifying them as vodka and even saying to grab the item, they would not budge. I think somehow the stash got deactivated. It was there but unmovable.
After leaving the Hospital, satisfied with finding three new recoverable stashes, I continued going north to the River Port. As I got in range, my binoculars picked up enemy NPCs and I quickly discovered a mix of both Zombies and Monolith. These were the first Monolith I had found alive in Pripyat. I moved in with my scoped AN-94 and sniped whatever I could. My Mini-Map kept going off and I moved back and forth, for it to tell me the range of those numbers that kept changing. I then equipped my AKS-74U ( called AKM-74/2U in the Game ) and moved in closer to the buildings and took out several Monolith at close range. There were a lot more Monolith here at the other end of the building, where the tower was.
I killed several Monolith and Zombies, quickly looted them and I decided after getting a barely manageable load of loot, that I would retreat for now and come back later. Just like guerilla warfare, I hit the River Port, probed their defenses and then disappeared before they could figure out what was going on. Or at least that's the way I like to imagine it. So, with a load just under 60kg, I headed back south and made it back safely to the Laundromat. That's where this video ends that I am calling the River Port ( Part 1 ). The next video will be the River Port ( Part 2 ) and where I take control of it.
