Mr. Shootem Breaks Out Thoughts:
A game of Breakout, but you have a gun to use for the ball instead of a paddle. Like Antonball and Aliens Go Home Run, it's taking a classic game and putting its own spin on it, but it's also not exactly stopping you from mashing left mouse to get the results, the ball will go very fast in return, but just try walling it. Also, I need a ref on that crusher hitbox during the boss, I was nowhere near that. The game's going to be on Kickstarter, so if it interests you, back it when the campaign happens.

Tacti-Cat Thoughts:
You're a cat shooting wizards with a fishgun and knifing rats. It's pretty nice, but what I have to point out is the weird audio balancing, most of the game is extremely quiet, but then some sound effects are way too loud.

Rebellion Stryker Thoughts:
This game is definitely in very early development, as the art isn't exactly set it stone, feeling like a student project in a way that scored an A. The gameplay is alright.

Candy Rangers Thoughts:
Man, what an improvement over the last year's demo, the controls are more streamlined, the shooting is done with holding down the WASD, dash being on left mouse, brake on right mouse and parry on the F key, with overall polish to the gameplay and presentation as well. The scoring is extremely strict, though, one wrong mistake and you're down to one star (which doesn't have to be a fault of your own, as different formations with different shot requirements can spawn on top of each other at points, ruining the combo if you were shooting one with one shot, that also hit the other). Besides that, the game just exudes a comfy atmosphere.

Illurama: Masters Of Illusions Thoughts:
The dev really said "I'll make my own Luna Nights" then went ahead and did it, pretty good.

Mana Expel Thoughts:
This one's interesting, as it's more stealth-focused with arrow shooting instead of the usual pistol with silencer or CQC takedowns. The stun jump feels a bit wonky, because even if you do it just right, it sometimes just doesn't want to work.

Blocks For Babies Thoughts:
Probably the biggest surprise of this year's SAGExpo (at least for me). A mix of Tetris, but with a twist that it's also an FPS with roguelite elements, constantly switching between the two styles to clear boards that can also have different sizes. This feels like a game you would see in a Dread XP Collection, except the fact that while those were made in Unity, this game is running under Game Maker and games with full 3D stuff are still a rare sight on that engine, the last one I can think of being SZX.
