School Hero (PC) Playthrough / Just an ordinary day in the life of an anime high school student :D
Game suggested by AimanCool440. Thx man ;)
School Hero (2025) by Gkoros Polychronis is a game focusing on the adventures of a certain teenager, named “Hero” , who has just started his first day in high school. Full of fears, he sets off into the unknown. Accidentally, through his inattention, he knocks down one of the students, named
Emma. And it turns out to be love at first sight. This did not go unnoticed in the school community, as Emma is considered a school goddess. Feeling the jealous stares on him, Hero knew that something was getting ready, but he had no idea that it was something more complicated than he could have initially guessed. Emma is kidnapped by one of the nerds during class and Hero sets out to rescue the damsel in distress. This is more or less the plot of School Hero. Nothing special really, there are plenty of similar themes in anime, after all, the Far East loves to base all kinds of its productions on school life. I'll admit that graphically School Hero simply pleases me. The sprites are large and nice for their style, while the maps are varied and rich in details. The audio is fine as far as sound effects, dialogues and shouts are concerned, while the soundtrack is probably one of the strongest features of this game. Gameplay-wise it's very standard, we have basically one standard combo, a jump attack, a dodge attack, a ground “useless” grab, an aura that increases attack power and 3 forms of special attack depending on the energy bar. Mozewy shoot balls of energy, make a slide that knocks over all opponents in its path and an area attack that deals massive damage to all enemies on the screen. Many of these attacks, are of little practical use and rather situational if at all useful. Yes there are some balance issues here. We have options but they have not been well adapted to what we may be dealing with in the game. For example, why pick up an opponent from the ground and throw him if we can get rid of him in a second almost immediately with a punch. For the rest, even throwing an opponent seems to do nothing in particular.... I even wondered if it does any damage to the opponent at all. I didn't even manage to throw the opponent in such a way as to deal damage to others. It's a bit strange. both the slide and the energy ball consume some energy, but they are not profitable enough to use them often. It's better to focus on using an area-damage special, because in later levels of the game it literally clears entire screens of enemies just like that. And on bosses build up a full energy bar and use an aura that literally crushes their life bars. Overall the game was ridiculously easy on normal, so on hardcore somehow it shouldn't be much of a challenge. But once you pass the game, two new modes unlock. Survival-that is, waves of enemies until we die- and Arcade, which is old-school style gameplay, most likely with a fixed number of lives and no videos. In the game we may encounter some mini-games, quick time events and even character development in the style of rpg games, where we have to Distribute points between strength and vitality. From time to time, man's best friend comes to our aid in the form of dogs, who will help us for a time to wade through hordes of students. As for me, the strongest point is the humor that accompanies the game. The portrayal of stereotypical school clubs like nerds, athletes, or complacent princesses came out really well. Combined with the typical body/face facial expressions taken vividly from anime, it builds here almost that caricatured atmosphere. Overall, the game isn't great, and has its downsides like stiff gameplay and lack of any 2 player cooperation, but it has its charm and an affordable price that should entice more than one player. I personally recommend it, but with a slight pinch of salt.
