Seijin Plays FFT 1.3034 Easytype, Part 36 : Doguola Pass
This is the first battle of chapter 4. This chapter sees an overall big increase in difficulty. However, this first battle is still rather on the easy side. But, to be honest, I did lose on my first attempt, but I decided not to keep it as a fail video.
This is the first story battle to include a dancer and a sage. No matter how annoying their abilities can be, they are still on the squishy side. If only the AI made dancers run instead of go closer to the enemy, they would potentially be among the most annoying generics to fight. The sage that starts on the high ground seems to have a set secondary skill set, Summon Magic (she had that as well on my first, failed attempt). This is very dangerous... but that also means midcharge hits. In other words, she won't get to cast it. She also will gladly cast Carbuncle... which is pretty useless against my units. Honestly, the AI is bad at using support-oriented abilities like that, and I think that the AI shouldn't have them for that reason.
In this battle, I decided to go with monsters for some reason. I can't really explain why I felt so interested in bringing monsters. Not to mention that they weren't really useful in this particular battle. So, I don't know.
Since enemies are quite bunched up together, I made Seijin into a purely damage-oriented summoner with Magic Attack UP, Wizard Rod, Holy Miter, Wizard Robe, 108 Gems (boosting elemental damage), and Leviathan (huge AoE). That poor sage really felt it.
Ramza was also damage-oriented with Draw Out, and Sara was more on the support duty. The monsters were... doing their stuff, I guess.
At the end, I tried to obtain enemy crystals, so that is why I stalled a lot. I could only get a few items in chests (including a Flash Hat, which is nice) but the last enemy died from a reaction ability, cutting the battle short before I could rack up all the stuff.
