If this wasn't an assassination battle, my playthrough might just have ended here. Honestly, I found this battle incredibly hard. I don't know if it's just me, but...

Balk has a Glacier Gun, and he does a ton of damage with it. He has insane speed, so he gets a lot of turns, to boot. The counter to the Glacier Gun is to give everyone an Ice Shield, but even with that, he still has some nasty status infliction such as Mimic Daravon or Threaten. His team is equally dangerous, with the two samurai knowing Kikuichimonji, the oracle knowing Flare 2 and a plethora of status spells. I forgot what the monks did by now, because I gave up after two or three attempts at winning the battle "normally" by killing all enemies (there was some good items to steal).

Instead, I went for for a quick kill. After a few attempts at testing strategies and playing around with speed values for my thieves, I came up with this team. The fact that everyone have Ice Shields means Balk will be forced to come closer to the party to use his talk skill abilities. This is his demise, because he won't live to get another turn.

Ramza had killer MA to use Draw Out, both Dead Fish and The Man have Throw, and enough speed to get two turns before Balk get another turn, if they stay in place rather than moving, Seijin has just enough speed to land a highly damaging jump with Attack UP and the bag's heavy damage, and Sara has Flare.
